Project Description
Léo Desilets is a pharmaceutical company based out of Québec that produces natural health products from organic materials. The company prides itself for its connection with the environment, local economy and for the effectiveness of their products. The mandate was to completely reinvent the packaging for a summer herbal medicine kit that included various products associated with possible summer health hazards.
Process
With the mandate in mind, I started exploring possible solutions. I found that die-cut packaging would be an interesting and clever way to create an eye catching visual. It was going to require a pattern / design that represented the seasonal theme of summer and that would not threaten the stability of the box when cut out. With the company’s environmental values in mind, I opted for colours and materials that would give off an earthy and organic feel. Meanwhile the actual product labels were going to use more serious and neutral tones. And in an attempt to maximize the clarity of the labels, each product was identified with big typography. I managed to keep the products of the kit nicely contained with a tray that could slide in and out easily. This made it simple to access specific products, keeping the entire kit as efficient as possible.
Outcome
The final result was a fulfillment of my initial vision for a clever design that would peak the interest of the customer all while efficiently presenting the products. The visuals on the product labels embodied clarity with the large typography which helped to effectively identify products.
